SUCCESS STORIES

Issac

Issac came to Keys2Work in May of 2019 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to Keys to Work/RecycleForce’s close working relationship with the city of Indianapolis, Mayor Joe Hogsett, and the Department of Public Works. Our paid work experience was able to remain in place to serve the most vulnerable at risk youth, experiencing homelessness and/or justice involved. Isaac was referred through our new referral partner organization, Outreach Indiana. Isaac found himself living in a youth shelter after being left to fend for himself by his adopted family in 2018. Since, coming to Keys to Work, Isaac has completed our occupational skills training program. This allowed him to move onto advanced training with EmployIndy’s Auto Service Technician training, in partnership with Flanner House, Champion Dodge, Nine13sports, and Marian University. Isaac Mara not only completed this program successfully, but was able to gain a High School Equivalency Diploma through a unique program with Marian University. Isaac Mara has always been clear that his career path is in auto mechanics. Isaac is well on his way to continue towards more advanced training and/or apprenticeships. We will continue to support Isaac Mara on his journey, see that he becomes self sufficient, and watch Isaac’s career plan become his reality.
